"So that the next generation might set their hope in God." Psalm 78:7

Uganda is a nation whose people are in overwhelming need living in a staggering world of AIDs & Malaria. Uganda has been left with over one million orphans to raise. Our desire is to help to encourage, educate, renew, and disciple these people to transformed lives in Jesus Christ, to raise Christian leaders who reflect the love of Jesus that gives hope in overwhelming need.

The start of the ministry began in 2000 when a member a Mt. Gilead Baptist Church traveled to Uganda on a mission trip. While there, by God's hand moving, he "happened" to visit the Royal School and Orphanage and met Jalia Kayondo, the headmistress and founder of the orphange. The two stayed in contact over the next few years, sometimes helping with little needs here and there. In 2003 and 2004, other groups visited the Royal School in Uganda. These trips really spurred the ministry forward, and children from the school began to be sponsored.

During that time land was purchased to build a new school and orphanage for these children. During a trip in early 2006, it was decided to bring a choir from the school to raise the money for the new buildings for the orphanage. Because of the involvement from different churches during the tour, the ministry moved from being a ministry of Mt. Gilead, and became a non-profit organization in which multiple churches have become involved.
